Online Safety

At Spittal, we recognise that computing and online safety are vital parts of teaching and learning. Our aim is to create an environment where technology is confidently used across the curriculum, and where pupils are supported to make responsible choices online and understand how to keep themselves safe.

We encourage open conversations both at school and at home. Children should always feel able to speak to a trusted adult if they’re worried about anything they see or experience online.

We also work in partnership with parents and carers to support online safety at home. We regularly share Online Safety updates and guidance on in our School Newsletters.

Using appropriate supervision, setting parental controls, and checking the age ratings and content of games, apps, and websites are all important ways for parents and carers to stay informed and help keep their child safe online.
